Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Symptom Tracker: Health Diary ("Health Diary", "the app") handles information when you use the app.
Health Diary is published by SELECTA LAB LLC, Ukraine ("we", "us"). It is a private diary: there is no account, no server that stores your diary and no cloud backup run by us. Your entries stay on your iPhone and we cannot see them.
In short
- Your mood, symptoms, medications, habits, sleep, notes and everything else you log stay on your iPhone.
- Apple Health is optional and read-only. Its data is never sent to us or to analytics, never used for advertising and never sold.
- We use Amplitude to see how the app is used (never what you log) and RevenueCat with the App Store to manage subscriptions.
- We do not sell your data and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Health Diary iPhone app: the daily check-in, quick entries, History, Insights (what affects you, trends, reports and the doctor report), medication and check-in reminders, the optional Apple Health connection, the optional Face ID lock, CSV export, optional Premium subscriptions, and the in-app option to delete your data.
Information stored on your device
Health Diary stores the following on your device, in the app's local storage, so that the app can work:
- Your diary entries: mood, feelings, optional mood range, symptoms and their severity, medications you add (name, dose, schedule) and whether each dose was taken or missed, habits, factors (including food tags), sleep, energy and notes, each with its date and time
- The conditions you may pick during setup to preselect what you track (optional)
- Your tracking setup, reminder times, language, theme, units, week start and other settings
- Whether Premium is active, so that features keep working offline
- A random app identifier, described below
We do not have access to this information. Because it is stored only on your iPhone, we cannot recover it if you delete the app, lose the device or use "Clear all data". Your iPhone's own backup (for example iCloud Backup) may include the app's data, depending on your device settings; that backup is run by Apple, not by us.
How the information is used
The information stored by the app is used only to run the app's features on your device:
- Show and save your diary, calendar and history
- Calculate trends, weekly and medication reports, detailed reports and "What affects you" findings on your device. These are patterns in your own entries, not medical advice
- Create the optional doctor report and CSV export when you ask for them
- Schedule the reminders you turn on
- Remember your settings
- Unlock Premium features after a verified purchase or restore
App identifier
The app creates a random identifier on your device. It is not your name, email address or advertising identifier, and the app does not ask you to create an account. The same identifier is used with RevenueCat and Amplitude (described below) so that your subscription status and app-usage statistics are linked to one installation, not to you personally.
Apple Health (optional)
If you connect Apple Health, iOS asks your permission for the data types. Health Diary can read these types only:
- Sleep
- Steps
- Heart rate and resting heart rate
- Weight
The app uses them only for these features: pre-filling your sleep hours, showing steps, heart rate and weight on the Today screen, and using sleep and steps as factors in "What affects you" findings, calculated on your device. Health Diary only reads from Apple Health. It never writes anything to Apple Health.
This data is read on your iPhone. It is not sent to our servers or to any third party, not used for advertising or marketing, not sold and not included in analytics. If you save a sleep entry that was pre-filled from Apple Health, it is stored in your diary like any other entry. You can change or withdraw access at any time in the Health app or in the iOS Settings; the "Apple Health" screen in the app's Settings shows the connection and opens them.
Face ID lock (optional)
You can turn on "Face ID lock" in Settings. Face ID and the device passcode are handled by iOS: the app only asks iOS whether you were recognised and never receives your face data. The lock only hides the app until you unlock it. It is a privacy screen, not encryption of the stored data.
Export and doctor report
"Export CSV" and the doctor report (a PDF summary of a period you choose, a Premium feature) are created on your iPhone from the entries you select. The app does not upload them. They are handed to the iOS share sheet, and you choose where they go (for example Mail, Messages, Files or another app). From that moment they are under your control and subject to the privacy practices of the place you choose; we do not receive them. They contain health information, so share them only with people you trust.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. We do not run a push notification server and no notification content is sent anywhere. A medication reminder can show the medication name and dose in its text, so it may appear on your lock screen depending on your iOS notification settings. You can turn reminders off in the app or in iOS Settings. Delivery can be delayed or suppressed by iOS settings such as Focus.
In-app purchases and subscriptions
Health Diary offers an optional Premium subscription through the Apple App Store. Purchases are processed by Apple, not by us. We never see your card or payment details.
We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to check and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat receives the random app identifier, product and purchase information (products, dates, status) and basic technical data such as platform and app version. It shares purchase events with Amplitude using the random identifiers. Your diary entries and Apple Health data are not sent to RevenueCat.
App updates and platform services
Health Diary uses these services, and no others:
- Amplitude (Amplitude, Inc.), product analytics, to understand how the app is used and to improve it. Amplitude receives the random identifiers above, events that say something was done in the app (for example a screen was opened, a check-in was completed or a paywall step was taken), your subscription status, and device and platform technical data such as app version, operating system and language. Events never contain what you log: no symptoms, mood or other values, medication names or doses, notes, or Apple Health data. We configure Amplitude not to store your IP address.
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store, for subscriptions, as described above.
- Expo (EAS Update) (650 Industries, Inc.), to deliver app updates over the internet. It may receive the technical information needed to deliver an update, such as app version and platform.
The app does not use advertising SDKs, does not share data for advertising and does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt. We do not sell your personal information. For the privacy practices of these services, see their own privacy policies.
Data retention and deletion
Your diary stays on your iPhone until you delete it. To delete it yourself:
- Open Settings and tap "Clear all data". All entries, medications and settings on this iPhone are deleted and the app returns to the start. Your subscription stays with your App Store account.
- Or delete the app from your iPhone.
"Clear all data" does not remove: files you exported or shared (CSV or PDF) that are now outside the app; data in Apple Health, which you manage in the Health app; your purchase history and subscription, which belong to your App Store account.
Records held by Amplitude and RevenueCat are linked only to the random identifier and are kept for as long as those services need for the purposes above. To ask us to delete them, write to the address below. Because the app has no accounts, it helps to tell us your device and an approximate install date so that we can find the identifier.
Children's privacy
Health Diary is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us.
International use
Health Diary is operated by SELECTA LAB LLC in Ukraine. The services above may process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union, under their own terms.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, the services it uses or the law change. The effective date above shows the latest version, and the current text is available in the app and on our website.
